The Sand, The Surf... it's The Ocean!

Mom and Dad finally took me to the ocean today. It was a busy day on Assateague Beach but we found a little spot for me to run around on. There were a lot of doggies there with their humans. I was freaking out... running and jumping all over the place. Mom complained that I didnt stand still long enough for her to take pictures but I think she got a few.

I tasted the water, it was icky. I also tried to eat some sand, ewww. I gaged it back out of my mouth as fast as I could. My mom laughed as I hung my tongue out. Well you know, I am still young so the first time I encounter something new, I have to taste it. But take it from me... salt water and wet sand are not tasty so dont waste your time trying them when you go to the beach. I think I got sand stuck in my teeth even.

My human parents didnt keep me there long because there was too much of a commotion going on with all the people there with kids and stuff but they promised to take me back again sometime soon. They said during the weeknight there may not be so many tourists there.

On the way to the beach there was a car behind us that didnt have any top on it and I could see the people in it. I was barking at them... grrrrr. I wanted to make sure they saw me. I may bark but I wag my stubby tail and butt so they know I am friendly.
This is a picture of me and my human Dad.

My mom took a few videos... she said they arent the best, but here they are - you can see me running all over like a crazy weimy pup!

Nice beach!!! I guess it had been even nicer without the lead.., but that is just how it is I guess.. You should really try to convince your folks to take you there more often!!

I've also tasted sea water and it's for sure icky. My dad also laughed at me..., but how intelligent was he at the same age???? He couldn't even walk!!!

Spirit,

That's so much fun! Cooper hasn't seen the beach but we plan on taking him this summer. I will try to tell him about drinking the water business but, like most Weims, he's gotta try it out himself. = )

Hey Spirit,

Looks like you had a great time at the beach. I wouldn't like to go to the ebach - but Charlie would, he loves the water.
Would you mind if I added you to our masterlist of 'dogbloggers' over at www.dogswithblogs.com.au ? We would really love to see you over there....

Love,
Opy

Hey Spirit,

Cooool movies! Reminds me of the 'Dog Beach Boogie' video. (http://www.dogsongs.net/video.
html
) I went to the big water once. It tried to catch me! I didn't like it and ran away. But in your movies the big water seems pretty cooool. Maybe I will try it again.

Lucky!

Woof!
