My sister Bella

My sister Bella and her mom Julie emailed my mom and I.
It was pretty neat to hear how Bella is doing. She is pretty much housebroken, like me. Although, she doesnt mind being in the crate, I still dont like it. Bella is growing fast too. Julie said that Bella likes to chew on people also. I love it! I know my mom doesnt love it when I sneak up behind her and grab her pants as she is trying to walk... but its all in fun. Hey, we're puppies still.

I hope Bella is growing up to be big and strong and happy. I love all my sisters and brothers. Here is a picture of Bella from when we still lived with the Ethriedges and our parents. I bet she is a lot bigger now!

*...Scales, Crates and Veterinarians...*

My mom weighed me this morning and I am 17.5 lbs now. I dont really know if that is average for a Weimy like me or not. But my mom said I look healthy and eat well so I should grow up to be a big strong girlie.

I am at work again with her today. She said that she brought me to work with her today because I am going to the veterinarian tonight. I dont know what that is, but I sure hope its fun!
Mom said it would be a little stressful since it's my first time there without my littermates. I am a good girl though, so I think it will go well.

I am having a problem at home though. I dont like my crate when the door is closed. I cry a lot whenever I am in my crate, even for a few minutes. If the door is open its ok, I go to sleep or play with my toys but as soon as the door closes, I freak out. Yesterday mom had to run out and left me in the crate for about 30 minutes. When she came home, I was so stressed that I had foam saliva on my chin, chest and front feet. Even though mom will leave my toys, my blankie and a crunchie doggie biscuit in there for me... I just dont like it. Anyone have any suggestions to make me feel more comfortable in there?

My Big Trip Up North !

This past weekend I went to northern NJ with my mom and dad.
It was a very long drive up in the truck. I dont particularly like riding in vehicles yet. My mom says I will when I get older. But right now, they kinda scare me. I tried to sleep for most of the way up there. I sprawled out on the front seat between mom and dad for most of the trip up. But then I moved to the back seat because my blankie was back there. It took about 4 hours to get to my Great Auntie Dee's house. She lives in the "mountains" of NJ.

When I first arrived I met Great Auntie Dee, Great Uncle Steve and my little Aunties: Samantha, Jessica and Alyssa. They all loved me. And I loved them too. They were a lot of fun. Its always interesting to have new humans to smell, chew on and play with. My Auntie Jessica took me outside a lot. She loves animals and wants to be a vet when she gets big.

This is a picture of me and my little Auntie Alyssa.

My cousin Liberty (who is very big! She is 1/2 Newfoundland) scared me at first. She is large and full of energy. I have to admit, looking up at such a large dog made me nervous. Eventually Liberty realized that I am MUCH smaller than her and decided to be more gentle with me. We played a lot. She took my rope toy and played "Keep Away" with me. My other cousin, Chance, didnt really like me. He growled at me and didnt really want to play with me. Thats ok though. I think he will like me when I get a little bit bigger. Maybe its because I am small right now. My mom tried really hard to get pictures of me and Liberty playing, but we ran around so fast and were always on the move that it was hard for her to get a decent one of us. Hey.... we were having fun, there was no time to stop and pose.
Me and Liberty:

I had a lot of fun. The weekend was over really quick it seemed and we headed back home. I hope to see my cousins (and my human relatives) again soon.

What I learned today... The Dog Property Laws

1. If I like it, it's mine.
2. If it's in my mouth, it's mine.
3. If I can take it from you, it's mine.
4. If I had it a little while ago, it's mine.
5. If it's mine, it must never appear to be yours in any way.
6. If I'm chewing something up, all the pieces are mine.
7. If it just looks like mine, it's mine.
8. If I saw it first, it's mine.
9. If you are playing with something and you put it down, it automatically becomes mine.
10. If it's broken, it's yours

...Growing Up

My mom put me on the weight scale yesterday. I have gained just over 5 pounds since I went to live with her and dad.

My diet consists of Natural Choice: Large Breed Puppy food, 3 times a day. And once a day I get a Natural Choice "cookie".

My mom said I am growing in leaps and bounds...whatever that means. I know I love to leap onto the futon and bound around the house - if that is what is she talking about.
I have this flood of energy and play and play... and then, I leap up onto the futon and sleep.
Sleeping is fun too ya know.

Oh! And yesterday I got to go to work with mom again. Everyone there treats me like I am a Hollywood star!!

*getting all happy thinking about next weekend*

Next weekend mom and dad are taking me to New Jersey to meet my cousins... Chance and Liberty. It's going to be a long ride (4 hours in the bouncy Jeep) to meet them, but it'll be worth it. I promise to take lots of pictures.
I also hope there is some snow up there, I havent had the chance to play in the snow yet.

A Story of Stairs and Feline Sisters

I am finally learning how to get up those towering stairs that lead to the second floor. I can make the small steps that lead outside just fine, but my little legs still have problems with the long stairs. By the time I get two steps from the top, I have to slow down because I am struggling - then the landing is wood so its slippery. Grrrr. Even worse trying to go down though. I sort of do this slide on my belly thing, using my front paws to take me down the next step. Sometimes my back paws are two steps behind my front paws though and so I kinda just slide down like a sleigh on a snowy hill. My mom tells me I need to take it slower and I will learn. I just think they need to install an escalator for me.

Upstairs is fun though so I dont mind the struggle to get up there. In the morning when mom goes upstairs to do some web surfing and emailing, I follow her up and lay down on the floor by her desk. The floor is wood and I would slide, so mom put down an old towel for me to lay on. It's my quiet time with mom... we both enjoy it.

This was me this morning:

My feline sisters (Maya, Sara & Pixie) like to hang out upstairs too. They sit in the window and sun bathe most of the day. Occassionally I try to play with them, but for the most part, they dont want too much to do with me...especially Sara and Pixie. Maya is the most tolerant of the bunch. Mom is trying to teach me that they arent my toys and that I shouldnt treat them as such. She said its important for me to learn this now because of my natural prey drive. I think I will remember it - so far I havent spit up and cat hair balls. *looks innocent with puppy dog eyes* A few days ago I followed mom upstairs and laid down by her desk and Maya came over and laid down by me. I think she approves of me. She's kinda fat (dont tell her I told you that though) and she pushed me and took up most of my blankie. She even rolled on her back trying to get me to rub her belly. Well, I am not her personal belly rubber, so I ignored her and went back to sleep. It was nice to have the company though... made me think of all the times I cuddled up with my brothers and sisters before we all went to our new homes.

Well, I think I am going to go now... I want to try and investigate the closet. I know they keep my food in there and if only I could find a way to get in there when they arent looking.
See ya later!!

My step sister, Haley, and I like to play. We have a good time together... she really wears me out. After I play with her, I sleep and sleep.
Haley is two years old, she has a lot of things to teach me, but right now I am more interested in playing tug o war with our rope toys, chewing on her tail, pulling her ears and stuff. Here is a picture of her and I playing the other day. She is very gentle with me because she knows I am much smaller than her. Someday though, I will be bigger than she is.

Off To Work I Go

I think I am the luckiest pup in the world! Today I got to go to work with my mom.
That's right... she packed up all my favorite toys, my blankie, some snacks, lunch & my doggie bowls and we went to the office.

My mom works in an office that used to be a big giant house - it was really neat. My mom put my blankie by her chair and I played and slept most of the day. Work sure is tough!! I also got to meet the office cat, Angelina. She didnt like me. I dont know why. I wanted to play with her but she just puffed her big black tail up and ran away. Oh well. At least I got to meet the people my mom works with and they all loved me... of course.

My mom told me on our drive to work that I should be on my best behaviour and I was. Everyone was amazed at what a good little girl I am. I also wagged my little stubby tail a lot - they loved it. I think I made a good impression and I might even be able to go back and visit them again sometime.

*yawns and stretches*

I've been home with my new family for almost a week now. I came to live with them on January 27th, 2006. I was born on December 12, 2005, one of nine babies born to Faithful Grace and Maxwell VI from Pennsylvania. I loved playing with my two sisters and 6 brothers and I do miss them, but I have a nice new family now and my sisters, mom and dad are all very nice. They take very good care of me. Actually, my mom is quite the pushover. All I have to do is look at her with my pretty eyes and turn my head slightly with my ears all perked and she just melts.

So far I have been trying to be a good girl though. When mom or dad takes me outside, I get straight to business and do my thing. I have only had two accidents in the house so far... which isnt bad for a youngin' like me. I'm only 7 weeks old, ya know!

My favorite toy is my rope. It's all different colors with a big knot on each end. I like to toss it around in the air and chew on it. It doesnt taste so yummy though so I dont eat it. I have a bunch of fun toys - it looks like Toys R Pups in my house.

*yawns and thinks about going back to sleep*

Well, thats all for now. I will update this soon - so check back often.
